Heko Obi kimono belts are generally 2-4m long.
They can also become very beautiful scarves to be draped elegantly.
Each is a unique piece made by hand in Kanako Shibori silk.
This traditional 8th century Japanese ligature / dyeing technique gives relief patterns to the fabric: Each small point corresponds to a tiny knot… It's a long and meticulous job for a very "haute couture" result!
The tradition of Kanoko Shibori tends to disappear, a Heko Obi is therefore a rare item.
