Fukuroi, Station 28 of Eisen's famous "Beauties of Tokaido" series. With its 53 relays, The Tokaido leading from Tokyo to Kyoto is a classic theme in 19th century Japanese prints. Eisen interprets it by staging elegant Japanese women against the backdrop of landscapes typical of the countryside of his time.
